Humpback whale spotted offshore

Jeff Jefferson, while working on a project on the south end of Debidue Beach January 19, first noticed the flocks of white pelicans, seagulls, brown pelicans and other piscivorous birds about 200 yards offshore.  It was a feeding frenzy. Then he saw it - the tell-tale tail fluke.  Like any of us would do these days, he extracted his phone and pressed the button for video recording.  Not wanting to miss a single moment, he aimed the phone at the ocean, but held it to the side while he enjoyed the next 10 minutes observing a humpback whale. Also, like many of us, he pressed the wrong button on his phone and ended up filming 30 wobbly seconds of seashells!  Better luck next time Jeff!
