Students cleanup at the BMFL after Hurricane Matthew 2016
Thank you! Students lend a hand and give up a Saturday to cleanup BMFL.
All of the students – the undergraduates and graduate students - worked hard all day, and we are extremely grateful to all of you for the huge effort and accomplishment. We moved TONS of marsh and forest debris and relocated many heavy pieces of equipment, lumber, and boats. The weather and bugs were cooperative, and we had fun along the way. While Hurricane Matthew will have a lasting impact on the BMFL as we work to repair and replace infrastructure and chip away at the remaining tons of debris through the winter, and probably spring, all of you got us off to a good start on that effort!
Thanks to SEAS president Jamie Clark and SEAS research coordinator Akilah Alwan for coordinating the Students Engaged in Aquatic Sciences participation. Thanks also to BMFL folks Matt, Stephen, Teddy, and Paul for their hard work.
